ROTHENBURG

DAY 5

Back in the 1980's, my mom walked the streets of Rothenburg.  She was the same age then, as my brother is now.

We took a family photo in the same spot where she took a photo when she visited this fairy tale town decades ago.

We enjoyed one day in Rothenburg and meandered the streets with the most amazing Christmas shop, enjoying fresh sausage sandwiches from the local meat market, the Trumpp restaurant, and a local a beer garden.  In the early evening we followed The Night Watchman who told us a captivating story of the town's history as we walked the streets.  We wrapped up the evening at the quaint little bar, "Hell".

Even though the day was getting progressively warmer, it did not stop us from enjoying all that the town had to offer.  We decided to take a different route with a little more shade...

... and walked along the medieval wall surrounding the city.  We had a birds eye view of the town while we searched for the "Rick Steves" block. Unfortunately,                                                                                       we did not find it.

Although it was a very warm afternoon, everyone in the town gathered to take a stroll through Rothenburg, hearing the stories of how it all came about by following the medieval man you see in the middle of the crowd.
