CINQUE TERRE

DAYS 14 - 15

After enjoying the history and beauty that Rome had to offer, our next destination was was Cinque Terre on the west coast of Italy.  This is where our driver, Richard, impressed us with how he could maneuver the bus along the narrow and winding hillside roads.

After our arrival in Cinque Terre, we walked to the Old Town and dined in a beautiful waterside restaurant where we could watch the sunset. We opted for a seafood medley dinner consisting of lobster, shrimp, octopus, monk fish, mussels and squid in a tomato broth.  DELICIOUS!

It honestly might have been the most amazing and fresh seafood I have ever tasted...

We reserved our umbrella spots for the following morning, and after having breakfast everyone grabbed their towels, made the 5 minute walk to the water, and embraced the UV rays hitting our skin keeping us warm. When we got too hot we jumped into the water and this cycle repeated from morning until night.

We enjoyed cheese appetizers and drinks alongside the beach with our group.  It was a relaxing opportunity to sit back and have a good laugh with those around us.

Even after the sun wore us all out, getting some of us tan...

               or slightly burnt...

the breeze felt nice and light across our skin cooling us gently as the sun began to set.
